Stag Hound - Vintage Book Plate

This is a very unusual Book Plate. I have no information about the artist or what is being depicted but the Wolf Dog on the right being part of the painting is charming. The upper right corner is dog eared with a little damage on the right edge but I think this will frame up nicely. A little larger than 5"x10". The man holding the dog has his hands around the dogs muzzle to obviously keep him from barking. Looks to be Italian or French.
